Mindful You Executive Board of Directors
-
Angelo Monsalve Restrepo
Executive Director and Founder
Angelo is a former telecom executive who worked in the industry for over 10 years. He realized the addictiveness of cell phones in 2016 and disconnected his cell phone for a year while deciding how to show up in the world. For the past 8 years he has dedicated himself to working in and around California, sharing the life enhancing skills of mindfulness and yoga with marginalized communities; namely, inner city schools, jails and prisons. During the pandemic, acknowledging the mental health crisis that young people were facing in part due to technology and social media; Angelo embarked on writing a children’s book called Screen Time. The book touches on the themes of anxiety and depression in relation to exposure to social media on their phones. Many of our young people today can identify with the themes in Screen Time in our current social climate. Angelo Founded Mindful You with goal empowering both young and old to build relationships with technology, themselves and the world around them.
